Job Summary:
The Molecular Biologist will be responsible for conducting advanced research in the field of biology, with a focus on molecular biology. This role involves investigating the structure, function, and interactions of molecules within living organisms at the molecular level. The Molecular Biologist will utilize cutting-edge techniques and equipment to perform experiments, analyze data, and contribute to the development of scientific knowledge in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and execute laboratory experiments and research projects in molecular biology.
2. Perform DNA and RNA isolation, cloning, amplification, purification, and sequencing.
3. Conduct PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, and other molecular biology techniques.
4. Cultivate and maintain cell lines and perform cell culture experiments.
5. Prepare samples for analysis and perform protein purification and characterization.
6. Utilize various microscopy techniques for visualization and analysis of cellular structures.
7. Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare research reports.
8. Collaborate with research teams to design and implement molecular biology experiments.
9. Stay updated with current research, techniques, and advancements in the field.
10. Maintain accurate records of experiments, protocols, and results.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. A minimum of a Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, and gel electrophoresis.
3. Strong knowledge of molecular biology principles, techniques, and methodologies.
4. Proficiency in cell culture techniques and experience with culturing cell lines.
5. Familiarity with protein purification techniques and protein characterization methods.
6. Experience in molecular imaging techniques such as fluorescence microscopy and confocal microscopy.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret research data accurately.
8. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, collaborating with researchers from diverse scientific backgrounds.
9. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present research findings and write scientific reports.
11. Attention to detail and accuracy in recording experimental protocols, data, and results.
